KENTON — The Hardin Memorial Hospital Guild recently held its annual Spring Luncheon at Henry’s Restaurant in Kenton. The luncheon tables were decorated with bird houses and flower baskets filled with mints.

Linda Smith, emcee and Secretary of the HMH Guild, welcomed all the attendees and thanked them for their attendance. A delicious meal, prepared by Henry’s, was enjoyed and served by the Spring Luncheon committee. Mark Seckinger, president of HMH, updated the group on the hospital’s renovation and expansion project to the Emergency Department, gave a physician update and thanked the Guild and the attendees for their contribution and support for the hospital.

The entertainment for this year’s luncheon was provided by the Kenton High School cast of Snoopy. They performed various numbers from the play which is scheduled for this weekend.

A raffle was held that included many items donated by various local businesses as well as the table arrangements given as door prizes. The Spring Luncheon, along with its raffle, is a major fundraiser for the Guild. All proceeds go toward the purchase of new hospital equipment. For Fiscal Year 2013-2014, the Guild applied over $20,000 toward gifts for the hospital as well as supplies for the many projects they do for the patients. .

This years’ luncheon committee consisted of Guild officers – Roberta Flinn, Linda Smith, Joyce Ramsey and Sharon Good (co-chairpersons); Linda Smith (emcee); Marilyn King and Joyce Ramsey (luncheon tickets); Unit #19 (table favors); HMH Gift Shop (table decorations); Sharon Good, Ruth Ann Poling, Kate Snider, Joyce Ramsey, Pam Sprang (raffle prizes); Sandy Dick (raffle tickets and program books); and Chris Davis (publicity).
