ADA — The Ada Lions Club met on Wednesday, April 9, at 6:15 p.m., at the N-Men's Building. President Dwight Martin called the Meeting to order, led the club in the Pledge, and then asked for a moment of silence. After pizza, President Martin conducted the meeting.

The secretary and treasurer’s reports were approved as read. Thank-you notes were read from the Ada Food Pantry and the Lions West Central Eye Bank in Dayton.

Bob Simmons reported on the Scholarship Awards Committee. He passed out packets to the members and said that the rubrics will be scored prior to the next meeting. There will be one additional scholarship award this year in honor of Lion Mike Stavenger who was a member of the Ada Club. The student award winners will be invited to dine with the Lions in late May.

The annual mulch sale will begin on Saturday, April 26. Orders can be processed at the following numbers: 419-634-5626 and 419-302-5987. Money earned from the annual mulch sale funds student scholarships. The Members will also be distributing information as to correct placement of mulch in order to preserve the trees.

Jason Hawkins has raised close to $18, 500 for cancer research and ran in the 118th Boston Marathon on Monday, April 21.

Lions will work the Bingo game on Thursday, April 17, at the N-Men's Building in Ada.
