FOREST — Marilyn Sue Collins, 82, died Monday, Feb. 24, 2014, at 1:25 a.m., at Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Arlington. She was born on Dec. 1, 1931, in Lima, to Ernest and Madge (Kanawal) Schaaf who preceded her in death. On June 3, 1956, she married Edward L. Collins and he survives in Forest.

Marilyn was a homemaker and retired in 1984 from Hardin Northern Schools where she worked as an elementary school teacher’s aide. She was a 1949 graduate of Lima Senior High School, an avid gardener and loved to crochet. Marilyn was an artist, who played the piano and loved reading.

Surviving are a son, Michael Edward Collins, of Forest; two daughters, Cheryl Ann (Joseph Edward) Mattias, of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Terry Elizabeth Collins, of Forest; and three grandchildren, Philip Michael, Emily Elizabeth, and Andrew Joseph.

She was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Ernest Collins; and two sisters, Helen Ann Hardin and Wanda Jean Seitz.

A funeral service will begin at 1 p.m., on Friday, Feb. 28, 2014, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada, with Pastor Trent Boedicker officiating. Burial will be in St. Matthew Lutheran Church Cemetery, Cridersville. Friends may call 4 to 8 p.m., on Thursday, Feb. 27, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.
