TOLEDO — Playing under the lights at Fifth Third Field, home of the minor league Toledo Mud Hens, the Ada baseball team lost to local foe Riverdale 7-2 Tuesday night.
"It was a great experience for the boys getting to play on a professional field," said Ada head coach Jason Campbell. "This was a game they have been looking forward to all season."
The loss dropped the Bulldog record to 3-9.
Ada jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first frame, but would not score again. The Falcons answered with three runs in the bottom of the first.
Riverdale added single runs in the fourth and sixth, as well as two in the fifth, to win. Both teams collected five hits, but the Bulldogs committed six errors to no miscues by the Falcons.
Hunter England pitched a six-inning complete game for Ada.
Riverdale plays at Fifth Third in Toledo annually, and this spring the Bulldogs became the designated opponent.
