LIMA - Visiting Ada scored first but Lima Central Catholic chipped away to rally and record a 4-2 non-league baseball win Monday evening in the Bulldog season finale.
The road loss dropped the final Ada record to 4-18, while the Thunderbirds improved to 11-14. Both teams lost close games Saturday in sectional semifinal action.
The Bulldogs scored single runs in the top of the first and third innings, but two runs by LCC in the second kept it a 2-2 tie.
The T-Birds then plated two runs in the fourth to provide the final margin. Ada freshman Seth Evans collected two hits, stole two bases and scored two runs to help pace the purple and gold offense.
Bulldog sophomore Brayden Sautter contributed two hits and two runs batted in. LCC out-hit Ada 9-6.
