ADA - Upper Sandusky came to Ada and defeated the scrappy Lady Bulldogs 5-1 in a girls soccer match Thursday evening.
The loss dropped Ada to 0-4.
In the first half, the Rams scored on a boot by Meagan Hensley 14:27 before intermission. But that proved to be the only goal of the opening half.
"It was our best first half ever, and things were looking really good," said Ada head coach Marty Clum. "But we did not come out as strong in half two."
In the second half, Ram Jaime Calvin scored 5:52 after the break to up their advantage to 2-0.
Ram Sierra Carey tallied to make it 3-0, followed by a Grace Miller penalty kick after a trip in the box with about 11 minutes left.
Makayla Callahan netted the lone Ada goal off a free kick from 24 yards out after she put the ball down on a quick re-set with 13:37 left.
Calvin scored her second goal to close the scoring with 2:37 remaining.
"After we got scored on in the second half we kind of lost our momentum," said Clum. "We got some energy back after the goal by KC. 
"We are definitely improving, we still have a ways to go but I think we will get there."
Ada visits local league rival and defending NWC champion Allen East Thursday, September 4.
