McGUFFEY - The Ada softball team decisively swept a non-league doubleheader at rival Upper Scioto Valley Saturday, 9-1 and 10-0.
The Lady Bulldogs improved to 7-2 with the sweep, while the Lady Rams fell to 2-7.
Ada broke open a 4-0 lead in the lidlifter with five runs in the fourth inning to put the game out of reach.
Alexis Amburgey hurled Ada to victory in the opener with seven strikeouts.
She allowed no earned runs and walked just one while scattering five hits.
The junior also added a two-run single.
Senior catcher Ashley Windle smacked two doubles and a single, and drove in two runs to pace the eight-hit Lady Bulldog offense. Senior outfielder
Alexis Gonzaga drove in two runs. Shortstop Quinn High slapped two singles while Ashley Sumner and Megan Simon each added a hit. Kaylee Spangler contributed an RBI.
Hites doubled and singled to pace the Ram offense. Mullins singled while Carl had a run-scoring hit. Hunsicker added the other USV hit.
The Rams plated their lone run in the bottom of the seventh.Game One

In the nightcap, Ada scored in all but one inning to post the five-inning, run-rule shortened 10-0 victory.
Sumner pitched a three-hit shutout with four strikeouts to improve to 3-0 this spring. The Bulldogs pounded out 13 hits and took advantage of five Ram errors to win easily. The victors also played error-less defense.
Junior Amburgey knocked out four singles and drove in a run to pace the Ada offense. Sophomore Mackenzie Wills smacked two singles while Gonzaga hit a double and a single. Haley Wyss contributed two singles and an RBI.
Spangler collected a two-bagger as well.
High stroked a two-run single and Madison Pinks singled.
Sanders amassed two of the three Ram hits while Lowery added their other safety.

Ada (0-2 NWC) will try to extend its three-game win streak when they visit Lincolnview (3-4, 1-1 NWC) in a Northwest Conference contest Monday.

LIMA - Ada scored five runs in the second inning and exploded for eight more in the fifth to out-slug host Lima Senior 15-6 under the lights Friday night in non-league softball action.

The win stopped a two-game losing skid and lifted the Lady Bulldogs to 5-2.

Ashley Sumner improved to 2-0 pitching this spring for Ada with a complete-game effort. She scattered six hits over seven innings and struck out a dozen while walking five. She allowed four earned runs.

"Ashley pitched very well," said second-year head coach Ken Jochims.

Alexis Amburgey singled twice and drove in two runs to help lead the 14-hit Ada offense. Senior catcher Ashley Windle doubled and drove in three runs.

Kaylee Spangler also hit a double while senior Katelyn Guagenti contributed a two-run single.

Senior outfielder Alexis Gonzaga smacked an RBI triple. Sophomore Megan Simon slapped three singles and knocked in a run.

Freshman Haley Wyss collected a pair of singles and drove in one run. Madison Pinks drilled a double while junior Tori Wyss and Quinn High each singled.
