DOLA - The Ada softball team scored three runs in the last two innings to beat Hardin Northern 5-2 Monday in their traditional county rivalry opener.
The non-league win lifted the Lady Bulldog team to a 1-0 start while HN fell to 0-1.
Lady Bulldog junior hurler Alexis Amburgey struck out seven and scattered five hits in a complete-game effort. She allowed two earned runs and walked two to post the win.
HN's Addy Bame struck out 11 but got the loss.
Amburgey aided her own cause with an RBI double. Megan Simon hit a double and added a single. Catcher Ashley Windle contributed an RBI single.
Mackenzie Wills also knocked in a run. Ashley Sumner, Kaylee Spangler and Katelyn Guagenti added the other Bulldog singles, as they out-hit Northern 7-5.
Lea Rowe paced the HN offense with a double and a single. Bame smacked a run-scoring double while Bri Campbell contributed an RBI single. Shelby Schlatter added the other Northern hit.
