Ada's Archer, Wilcox advance to regional track finals

TIFFIN - Ada senior sprinters Brittney Archer and Matt Wilcox each advanced to Div. III track and field regional finals competition Friday with strong performances in multiple races Wednesday at Tiffin.
Archer had the top qualifying time in the 200 meter dash preliminaries Wednesday, winning with a time of 26.05. Archer also posted the second-fastest 100 meter dash time (12.97) to move on step closer to returning to the state meet in both races.
Wilcox had the third-best qualifying time in the boys 200 meters (23.04).
Wilcox posted the second-best prelim time in the boys 400 meter dash (50.48), an event he made it to Columbus in last June. The senior sprint ace also made it to the regional finals in the 100 meters by finishing seventh in the prelim heats (11.53).
The top two finishers in each heat, plus the next four best times advanced to the finals of each event Friday at Tiffin.
The top four regional finishers then qualify for the state meet in Columbus June 6-7.
Ada sophomore Carlee Marshall finished seventh in the high jump with a best leap of 4-10.
