HARROD — Allen East used a third quarter scoring advantage to claim a 47-42 Northwest Conference win from Bluffton Thursday evening.
The win keeps the Mustangs undefeated in the NWC at 5-0 and they are 12-4 overall. Bluffton suffered their first NWC loss as they dropped to 4-1 and they are 10-5 overall. Crestview also is undefeated in the NWC after beating Paulding Thursday night.
Bluffton had a 10-8 first quarter lead before the Mustangs used a 14-9 second quarter scoring advantage for a 22-19 halftime lead. Both teams scored 11 points in the third quarter before Allen East finished the game with a 14-12 scoring edge.
Allen East outscored Bluffton from the free throw 12-5 as the Lady Mustangs were 12-of-19 at the line.
Kaycee Rowe led the Mustangs with 16 points, while Carly Clum and Aubrey Woods both had 11 points.
Sarah Schriner led the Pirates with 15 points and Sami Fruchey finished with 12. The Pirates turned the ball over 26 times in the game.
