COLUMBUS - Ada junior wrestler Austin Windle finished seventh in the Division III 160-pound class at the three-day state championship meet held at the Schottenstein Center in Columbus Saturday.
Windle decisioned Drew Basiel of Akron Manchester 6-2 in the bout for seventh. He went 3-2 overall at the state meet, with one default win, to end the season with a 42-8 record.
Windle lost in the first round Thursday to Jordan Hendrix of Tontogany Otsego  15-0 in a technical fall. Hendrix eventually finished sixth.
Windle then won by forfeit over Josh Horning of Atwater Waterloo in the first consolation round.
On Friday, he edged Bishop Hartley's Jacob Croswell 2-1 in the second match of the consolation bracket to assure himself of no worse than an eighth-place finish.
Later Friday, Ray Day took a 5-2 decision over Windle. Day, from Reading, ended up fourth in the 160 lb. division.
On Saturday, Windle then beat Basiel 6-2 to claim seventh.
