KALIDA - Host Kalida pulled away from a five-point battle with a 21-11 fourth quarter to post a 63-48 boys basketball non-league win over Ada Friday night.



The Bulldogs fell to 1-3 with the loss while the Wildcats improved to 5-2 and avenged a two-point defeat at Ada last winter.

Kalida led a close game throughout. They were on top 17-14 after one period and 30-25 at the half. The hosts maintained that lead into the final period before gradually extending the margin down the final stretch.

Ada junior Grant McBride canned three triples en route to a career-high total of 20 points. Sophomore Blake Willeke added 10 points and senior Spencer Archer contributed eight markers.

Randy Zeller of Kalida led all scorers with 21 points. Cole Miller scored 11 while Luke Langhals and Devin Kortokrax each added 10 markers.
