CRIDERSVILLE - Host Perry took both ends of a non-league doubleheader from Ada Saturday, 5-2 and 8-0.


The losses dropped the Bulldog record to 2-13.

In the opener, Ada catcher Hunter Waller singled in the second and sixth innings and drove in a run to pace the Bulldog offense, which mustered three hits.

Alan Ogle earned the pitching win for Perry. He allowed two runs over 5 2/3 innings. He struck out four and walked seven.

Ada scored both of its runs in the sixth frame. Perry plated two in the bottom of the first, then added one run in the fourth and two in the fifth to build a 5-0 lead.

In the nightcap Ada freshman Brayden Sautter tripled twice, but the Bulldogs were unable to score him as they ended up on the short end of an 8-0 count.

Andrew Gipson pitched five shutout innings to earn the win for Perry. He struck out six, walked three and allowed only one hit.

Sautter collected the only two hits in the first and sixth innings for Ada. Perry never surrendered the lead after scoring three times in the second inning on an RBI double by Russell King, an error, and an RBI single by Tanner Foley.

The Commodores added two runs in each of the fourth and fifth frames, and tacked on another tally in the sixth to finish the scoring.

Perry out-hit the Bulldogs 13-2 and did not commit an error. Ada managed five hits in the twinbill.

Ada (0-7 NWC) will try to snap an 11-game losing streak Monday at home vs. league foe Spencerville (5-10, 1-4 NWC). The Bearcats edged Ottoville 7-6 Friday in a non-league battle.
