ADA - It’s fall. The leaves are now ‘falling.’

And Ada Village Administrator Jamie Hall has announced that those leaves will start to be picked up quite soon throughout the village. Start date: Monday, October 24th.

As in past years, Mr. Hall explained, the village has been divided into four districts. Leaf pick-up will begin in the Northwest quadrant (District A) on the 24th; the Northeast quadrant (District B) on the 25th; the Southeast quadrant on the 26th; and the Southwest quadrant on the 27th.

And then in seven-day (one-week) increments, the cycle will repeat for four additional pick-ups. [*Note: There will be a two week lag between the fourth and fifth pick-ups. For instance, in the Northwest Quadrant, the 4th pick-up will be Nov. 14, and the 5th pick-up will be Nov. 28th.

And this will be the second year for the village’s new, leaf pick-up vacuum with the high-tech, remote-control arm.

All leaves must be raked onto the tree lawn, no piles on the street. In addition, there is no parking on the street the day of the quadrant pick-up.

Tree branches and woody debris are not allowed in the piles.

This will also be the first year that leaves can be dropped off at the Village’s “Green Waste Site” as well. That site has been recently opened to the public.

This is located on Pebble Court, just off Lincoln Avenue, behind the Water Treatment Plant. And drop off here can not only be leaves, but sticks, branches, grass clippings and garden material.

The latter must be done by appointment. The site is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. And the number to call is: 419-634-4045.
