ADA — “This individual has contributed to the betterment of this community through manyh local organization events and countless effort, including the Ada Kiwanis Club, of which he serves as treasurer; the Ohio Northern University Business College Advisory Board at ONU; the Ada Community Improvement Corporation board; the Hardin Chamber of Commerce board; and the Ada Music Booster.”

So said Ada Area Chamber of Commerce President Deb Curlis in introducing this year’s Distinguished Citizen of the Year, Bryan Marshall. The award was presented to Marshall during the 53rd Annual Town & Gown Banquet held Monday evening in ONU’s McIntosh Center ballroom.
And Curlis’s ennumeration of Marshall’s contributions to the community didn’t stop there.

“The Ada Schools have benefited significantly thanks to this individual’s leadership, insight, and active participation,” Curlis continued. “Bryan has been a crucial part in leading successful campaings to renew Ada School levies, has led the way to celebrate other community recognition events, and is currently coordinating efforts to improve the Ada Park tennis courts. He and his family are active members of Ada First United Methodist Church, and he played a leadership role helping in rebuilding the church when it was lost due to fire.”

A life-long resident of Hardin County, Marshall grew up on a local family farm before attending and graduating from ONU, earning a baccalaureate degree in Finance and Management. Ada’s newest Citizen of the Year also the Ohio School of Banking and the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Graduate School of Banking.

Marshall resides in Ada with his wife and daughter, and serves as executive vice president and CFO of Liberty National Bank, Ada.
