KENTON
— Classic cars and bikes lined the streets in Kenton while several
specialized food trucks catered to the crowds during the first Eats on the Streets Festival sponsored by the Hardin County Chamber and
Business Alliance (HCCBA) in the Kenton Historic Courthouse District.
Live
music filled the air and the live auction bidding wars went on despite
the light rain. Adirondack chairs sold for up to $2,300. Jacqualine
Fitzgerald, Community Development Director of the HCCBA, said, “The
chair auction for Not By Choice raised over $12,500 and the food truck
vendors told us, we definitely need more food trucks for next year. They
were all very happy with how the event went and could not get over the
community support and how nice everyone was."
Six food trucks from
Columbus, The Paddy Wagon, Coldstone Creamery, Pitabilities, Schmidt's
Sausage Truck, Phillybuster and Sticky Fingers, lined the north side of
the Courthouse from 5 to 10 p.m.
Fitzgerald said, “Despite the
weather, at one point we had over 3,000 in attendance. The food lines
were, at one point, over an hour and a half wait time. People came out
with their umbrellas, and had a great time. The classic car Show and
Vintage motorcycles were a hit.”
