Kristie Winkeljohn and her husband.

Where were you born? Where did you grow up?
I was born in Findlay, OH and grew up in Dunkirk, OH.  I attended Hardin Northern where I graduated from and then went to BGSU for my bachelors degree in Art Education.

What brought you to this area? Or kept you here?
My family brought me back to this area, and getting hired at Ada Schools kept me here.

What is your occupation?
I am the Elementary Art Teacher at Ada Schools, where I teach grades 1st-6th, and also have a Junior High and High School elective class.

Why do you love what you do?
I LOVE getting to teach art!  I think it is so important for kids to be able to be creative and express themselves through art.  Every day is different and keeps me challenged creatively as well.

What is your favorite thing about this community?
I love being a part of this community. My family moved to Ada while my brother was still in high school and we all really felt so welcomed like we had lived here forever.  It was refreshing and I knew I would be lucky to work in such a great community.

What is your favorite thing about this community?
I am a Volleyball Coach and have been the last 6 years.  It is a really fun to switch from teaching art to coaching and I have enjoyed it every year.  I have also done some murals in the school and painted the Tavern 101 window for Christmas the last two years.

What are some of your hobbies?
My hobbies are cooking and traveling with my husband.
