MOUNT BLANCHARD — Riverdale put three players in double digits
Monday evening as the Falcons downed Hardin Northern 45-33 in
non-league action.
Hanna Breidenbach led the Falcons (1-1) with 12 points, while Danielle Searfoss and Carrigan Vent both had 11 points.
Riverdale
outscored the Polar Bears in every quarter as they had a 13-9 lead
after eight minutes and were up 23-18 at halftime. The Falcons continued
to pull away with a 10-8 third quarter scoring margin before finishing
the contest with a 12-7 scoring advantage.
Maddie Grappy led the
Polar Bears (0-2) with a game high 15 points and three rebounds. Aliya
Obenour finished with six points, while Makailey Cook and Emma Martin
both pulled down four rebounds.
Hardin Northern won the junior varsity contest 21-12 as Lauren Lenhart had 11 points. Lily Farrow had six points for Riverdale.

— Botkins turned in an excellent defensive performance Friday night as
the Trojans topped Hardin Northern 56-21 in the non-league season opener
for both teams.
The Trojans held the Polar Bears to single digit
scoring in each quarter and an 18 percent shooting night (7-of-38) from
the field. Botkins also forced 27 Hardin Northern turnovers in the game.
Botkins had a 20-6 lead after one quarter and were up 30-12 at halftime.
Boston
Paul paced the Trojans with 17 points and Aleah Johnson finished with
16 points. Cramen Heuker added 12 points to the Botkins win.
Maddie
Grappy led the Polar Bears with nine points and five rebounds and Bella
Wilson grabbed five rebounds. Emma Martin and Quinn Stewart-Evans both
had four points for Hardin Northern.
Botkins won the junior varsity contest 15-9. Emma Martin had five points to lead the Polar Bears.
