Where were you born? Where did you grow up?
I was born and raised in Hicksville, Ohio.

What brought you to this area? Or kept you here?
When I graduated from BGSU with my Medical Technology degree, the first place to offer me a full-time job was Lima Memorial Hospital. I’ve lived in the area ever since.

What is your occupation?
I’m a chemistry and physical science teacher at Upper Scioto Valley High School. I became a teacher through a grant program which turned scientists and mathematicians into teachers in high-need school districts.

Why do you love what you do?
Watching my students learn and grow, seeing them laugh and have fun in the classroom...that is the greatest aspect of teaching. These USV kids have left indelible marks on my heart.

What is your favorite thing about this community?
The best thing about Ada and other small towns is the way that people will help each other; whether it’s finding a ride for your child to a game or a local fundraiser for someone in need, small communities are exceptionally supportive.

What are you involved within the community?
I’m a former Cub Scout leader, Boy Scout parent committee member, and Ada Soccer Association member. I currently run the soccer concession stand at the fields and stay busy with my children Wyatt, Garrett, and Sami’s activities.

What are some of your hobbies?
My hobbies include traveling, baking, home improvement projects, and reading.
